Galatasaray vice president, Abdullah Kavukcu, has shed new light on Victor Osimhen’s future, offering fresh hope to fans that the Nigerian forward might remain at the Turkish club beyond the summer despite mounting interest from several of Europe’s biggest teams.

Osimhen, who completed a shock loan move from Serie A side Napoli to the reigning Turkish champions in September, has taken the Super Lig by storm. While many had tipped the 25-year-old to move to the Premier League or return to Italy with another top side, his decision to sign for Galatasaray has proven to be a masterstroke for both parties.

Since his arrival, Osimhen has dazzled under head coach Okan Buruk, delivering sensational performances week after week. The Super Eagles striker has so far netted an impressive 28 goals and contributed five assists in just 32 appearances across all competitions, firmly establishing himself as one of the most lethal forwards in Europe this season.

His blistering form has propelled Galatasaray to the brink of yet another Super Lig title, with the Turkish giants currently sitting top of the table as the campaign approaches its climax. Unsurprisingly, Osimhen’s exploits haven’t gone unnoticed, with major clubs such as Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, PSG, Nottingham Forest, and Juventus all reportedly eager to secure his services in the upcoming transfer window.

Despite the intense speculation surrounding his future, Galatasaray’s leadership remains optimistic about the prospect of retaining the Nigerian international. Speaking to the Mirror, Kavukcu explained that Osimhen is yet to decide on his next move and that the player’s affection for the club could play a crucial role in shaping the outcome.

Osimhen will announce his decision in April. At the moment, five of the world’s top clubs are interested in him. His arrival here was a dream — he came, and for now, he is playing with us. In January, there was talk of a transfer, but he stayed,” Kavukcu revealed.

He added, “He loves Galatasaray very much. Right now, he is the dream of all our rivals. Although we are focused on winning the title, we have not had direct discussions with Victor yet regarding his future.”

Kavukcu went on to highlight the prestige of Galatasaray and its ability to attract world-class talent like Osimhen, dismissing the notion that keeping the prolific striker is out of reach.

“There is no point in talking about it now. Galatasaray are a top-level club — if it weren’t, Victor wouldn’t have come. His stay at Galatasaray is not as impossible as it may seem,” he concluded.

As the season enters its final stages and the title race intensifies, all eyes will be on Osimhen and Galatasaray, with fans eagerly awaiting the striker’s official decision, which promises to be one of the summer’s biggest football stories.
