Osimhen’s future unclear as Napoli eye early summer sale, Man United interest fades

Renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Victor Osimhen will not remain at Galatasaray beyond the end of his current loan deal and is set to return to his parent club, Napoli, at the conclusion of the season.

Romano, who is widely respected for his accurate transfer updates, revealed that Napoli are actively preparing for a quick sale of the Nigerian striker and intend to complete any deal early in the upcoming summer transfer window.

While there has been ongoing speculation linking Manchester United with a move for the prolific forward, Romano made it clear during a recent update on his YouTube channel that a transfer to Old Trafford is far from certain.

He pointed out that although the Red Devils have shown interest in Osimhen in the past, they are currently evaluating a number of striking options, and Osimhen's high wage demands, along with the overall financial package required for the deal, could pose a stumbling block.

Napoli have reportedly inserted a €75 million release clause in Osimhen’s contract, and they are determined to avoid a repeat of last summer’s prolonged transfer saga, which saw the striker’s future remain unresolved until well into September.

This time, Napoli’s hierarchy is aiming to conclude Osimhen’s sale as early as June in order to allow enough time for the club to reinvest in new players and avoid disruptions to their preseason planning.

The Nigerian international has significantly boosted his market value with an impressive stint at Galatasaray, where he has netted 28 goals and provided 5 assists in 32 appearances across all competitions, showcasing his form and consistency on the pitch.

Despite Manchester United being in the conversation, the race for Osimhen’s signature remains wide open. Romano highlighted that multiple clubs from both the Premier League and other top European leagues—as well as high-spending teams from Saudi Arabia—are closely monitoring the situation.

As it stands, Osimhen’s future remains uncertain, and fans can expect more updates as the summer window approaches and bidding clubs begin to formalize their interest in the highly sought-after striker.
