Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has reaffirmed his commitment to Galatasaray as the Turkish football giants continue their determined charge towards the coveted SĂĽper Lig title this season.

The 26-year-old Nigerian international was once again on the scoresheet, netting a crucial goal just 60 seconds into the second half during Galatasaray’s hard-fought 2-0 victory over Samsunspor.

The goal marked Osimhen’s 29th goal of the campaign in just 33 appearances, with an additional six assists to his name — underlining his status as one of the most prolific and sought-after strikers in European football at the moment.

Osimhen’s consistent and influential performances have been instrumental in Galatasaray’s quest for their historic 25th league title, a feat that would also earn the club their prestigious fifth star on their crest.

Speaking after the match, the striker reflected on the importance of the win and how the team adjusted after a shaky start, telling the club’s official website: “We were a bit rushed in the first half, we actually wanted to show ourselves, how good we are.”

His early second-half goal proved decisive in the encounter, helping Galatasaray maintain their slim advantage at the top of the SĂĽper Lig standings as the title race approaches its climax.

“The focus is on us right now,” Osimhen continued. “We have a responsibility as a team. We want to win. We actually have the quality to win every match. It is not easy, we will face very important opponents.”

Despite increasing speculation about his long-term future in Turkey, especially with interest from top clubs in England, Spain, and Italy, Osimhen made it clear that his current focus remains on achieving glory with Galatasaray.

“There are always rumours about me, of course,” Osimhen admitted. “But I prefer to live in the moment. I am enjoying myself right now.”

He praised the warm reception he’s received since joining Galatasaray, saying: “I am enjoying both the club and my life here. The fans have also been incredibly supportive since the first day, all stakeholders within Galatasaray have helped me.”

Looking ahead, Osimhen revealed that a decision on his future will not be made until the conclusion of the season. “Now I will fight for the fifth star with my team, and a decision will be made at the end of the season,” he concluded.
