Juventus are shifting their focus toward acquiring Atalanta’s dynamic Nigerian forward, Ademola Lookman, as they prepare for the summer transfer window. This move comes in response to ongoing complications in their pursuit of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, which have made the potential deal increasingly difficult to finalize.
The Bianconeri are actively working to strengthen their attacking department ahead of the 2025/26 campaign and have held internal discussions regarding multiple offensive targets. Osimhen has long been the club’s top priority; however, Juventus are being forced to explore other options due to the high costs involved in securing the Nigerian international.
Osimhen currently commands an annual salary of €10 million and has a release clause set at €70 million. Additionally, his name continues to circulate in the transfer discussions of other top clubs, most notably Premier League giants Manchester United, who have also expressed serious interest.

Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna is reportedly in active talks with Manchester United regarding a possible deal for Osimhen, which could potentially involve a swap deal including Danish forward Rasmus Højlund heading to Naples. The uncertainty surrounding this deal has forced Juventus to reevaluate their transfer strategy.
As a result, the Turin-based club has redirected their attention to Ademola Lookman, who is enjoying an outstanding season with Atalanta. The 27-year-old Nigerian winger has impressed consistently in Serie A, and his performances have made him a top target for several clubs across Europe.
Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has been tracking Lookman for some time, and the player’s name reportedly came up during a strategic dinner meeting earlier this year with Atalanta’s director Tony D’Amico. The mutual respect between both clubs could help facilitate a smoother negotiation process.

According to reports, Lookman and Atalanta are expected to part ways at the end of the current season, with interest already pouring in from other Serie A teams and several Premier League clubs. Napoli, too, have entered the race to secure his services.
Atalanta are understood to be demanding a transfer fee of around €60 million for the former Leicester City man, who joined the club in 2022 for just €15 million. Since then, Lookman has emerged as a crucial figure for the Bergamo-based side.
He was instrumental in Atalanta’s triumphant UEFA Europa League campaign last season and has continued his strong form into the current term, racking up 18 goals and seven assists in all competitions. His versatility, creativity, and consistent goal-scoring ability make him an appealing alternative to Osimhen for Juventus.
While Osimhen remains an elite-level target, Juventus are preparing to act swiftly if the negotiations fall through, making Lookman a priority signing in the coming months.
